Ahead of the final weekend in Västerås on 19–20 March 2027, the Swedish Bandy Association is entering a partnership with Liveday. The partnership will make the visit easier both before and during the final weekend, while giving the association a better understanding of its audience.
The first Bandyfinalen was played in 1907 on the river Gavleån in Gävle. It has been played every year since, fifteen years longer than the ice hockey final and twenty-five years longer than the handball final. The attendance record is 38,474 spectators, set at Friends Arena in 2013.
On 19–20 March 2027, Swedish bandy once again gathers at ABB Arena Syd in Västerås. Five finals over two days, from the youth finals to the Swedish Championship finals for women and men.
Bandyfinalen has a fantastic history, but what matters most is its future. We will keep developing the event, reach more people and get even better at understanding our audience, what makes people come and what makes them want to come back. The partnership with Liveday opens up new possibilities for us there, says Thomas Mårtens, Business Developer at the Swedish Bandy Association and Svensk Elitbandy.
Liveday’s platform brings ticket sales and several parts of the arena experience into the same system. Visitors can do more before they even set off, for example adding food and drink to the same purchase as the ticket.
On site there is QR ordering, mobile payment and express checkouts. That lets every visitor experience the matches on their own terms, without spending valuable time in a queue.
Bandyfinalen is one of the most iconic events in Swedish sport, and we are very proud to help develop the experience going forward. For us it is about making the entire digital experience around the event as simple and smooth as possible, from the ticket purchase to the choices and purchases visitors want to make before and during the final weekend. At the same time, the Swedish Bandy Association gains better opportunities to get to know its audience and build a stronger relationship with it over time. It feels great to contribute to the next chapter in the long history of Bandyfinalen, says Kristoffer Fält, Key Account Manager at Liveday.
